Course Description: To understand the importance of managing medication and provide support to service users who are self-medicating. The course will also benefit Care Workers undertaking training in the Skills for Care Knowledge set on Medication or care workers undertaking NVQ Unit . Course Content: · Care values · Legislation, policy and procedures · Classification of medicines · Maintaining medication records · Collection, storage, disposal medicines · Safe handling of medicines · Supporting self-administration · Administration of medicines · Reporting mistakes, recognising and reporting changes Accreditation: A certificate will be issued on completion of the Managing Medication Awareness Course.
